The other day while out shopping at Walmart I noticed two woman taking all the boxes of rice off a shelf. We don't eat a lot of rice but a box or two is always good to have and since we are out I thought I'd take a look since it appeared there might be a good deal. These woman were pulling the boxes off the shelf in order to peal the coupons off the package and then putting the boxes back on the shelf.
Now there is a lot of debate as to whether or not this is stealing. Myself I am not sure that it is stealing as much as it is rude. We all like to save money. We work hard for it and would like to get the best deal possible. However I know in my area (as well as others I'm sure) there are families that genuinely use this product and good really use the discount those coupons offered. There are families that this discount could mean the difference between eating and not eating. Isn't that worth more than having a couple extra coupons in your binder just in case of a sale?
So what did I do? I let them know in no uncertain terms that they had absolutely no class and then I marched my happy ass up to a CSM and let him know what they were doing. I even pointed them out to him at which point the two classless twits left the store. They are now however on managements radar. Management I might add considers this stealing and will deal with the offending twits next time they "steal" all the coupons off products.
